It is with not some regret that I must retire from active photography. With two heart attacks, quad bypass and stint,  my body is telling me that it is growing tired, and dealing with the vast complexies of life has become more difficult. As each day wains, so does my mind and body. 

To those of you who are young and vigorous, take a moment
to have your cholestrol checked.  It is the silent killer of mind
and body.  It can be contained, but the damage done cannot
be changed.

It has been a rich and wonderful experience! But now, the time has come to enjoy some "twilight" time with my wonderful wife of 45 years. Without her, my life would be a mere empty shell, void of light and wonder of the beauty of love. 

To My "Muse":  My AVI is "Jas". Her special friendship, ability
to create moving and awesome imagery, her pushing my ability
to create the image she conceived, being a true "partner" in
the creative process has been priceless.  She will always be
in my mind a "muse to the muses".

To those who shall come after me, a couple of thoughts:

Always be Professional and hold ethics to the highest standard.

Remember where you came from; we were all nubies and GWC's at one time.  Don't belittle those who you determine
to be of lesser talent, reach out, and share your strengths
and knowledge with them.  The reward to the heart from
sharing and uplifting another is worth more than $$$$$.

Models and yes, photographers have feeling and emotions.
Treat them as people, not dumb objects of scorn or redicule.

If you find yourself dealing with an "ass", don't become one
yourself in dealing with the individual.

Practice respect, admiration for talent, and always remember,
you will gain respect when you lift up others rather than yourself. 

I know that there will be many who may disagree with the above . But if some are challenged to do better, feel more emphathy, and seek to lift up others, then I shall leave
in quiet peace.
