A lot of photographers specialize in portfolio building - I'm not one of them. You should definitely work with others to get the bulk of the "meat and potatoes" images for your port. I'm here to help with that one unusual image that will make your portfolio different, and stand out. My style is not for everyone. I like to be bold, experiment and break rules. I'm known for high concept, fetish, fine art & alternative looks but even within those genres, I strive for creative, artistic experiments. If you want to work with me, you should be willing to step outside the box, outside the comfort zone and take risks.
I have some diverse influences including, Ansel Adams, George Hurrell, Irving and Paula Klaw, Robert Mapplethorpe, Helmut Newton, Gordon Parks, Suze Randall, Titian, Deborah Turbeville, Weegee and Bunny Yeager. O.K., here is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you should know about me. I have no 'day job'. This has lots of implications. First, I prefer not to do TFP (I have to eat). Second, if I do a TFP, it can take a LONG time to get the images done - I won't let any images out that I think are substandard, and if I get paid work (or several gigs in a row), they will take precedence over image editing. I do film work, so it is not unusual for me to be employed for weeks at a time working 75 hour work weeks. Sometimes I do not see my own bed for months. Finally, given all that, I am understandably posessive of my weekends, and prefer to book M-F 9-5. You may see photos marked "UpStart Productions" in my port. That is a company name under which I do some of my work. I manage several clubs on ModelBrigade which may/may not be related to the type of work I have displayed in this portfolio. ____________________________________________________________ Travel: Las Vegas - November 2008 Istanbul, Turkey - 2009 |
