What is Model Brigade? Model Brigade is not just another simple modeling community. Model Brigade's mission is to provide promotion of its members by featuring great talent and displaying it's members work so that the portfolios will be better displayed and found on the site. Why should I Join? Model Brigade provides a way for you to expose your self as a model or other industry talent by networking with other industry professionals. You can upload many photos, add friends to your network, place classifieds, attend posted events, post travel itineraries, use the forum and chat to communicate live and much more.

Is there a fee to join? No, currently there is not a fee to join.

What is TF*, TFCD, TFP, or TFDVD? It stands for Time for and the asterisk gives a meaning of anything or all. It is a term that has been used in the online modeling industry for some time to suggest an exchange in a model's or photographer's time with the outcome being prints, digital copies on CD, or digital copies on a DVD. This is usually done on a basis where the model and photographer work together and the compensation for both is usually the work that was done together. This can also include others such as Makeup Artists, Wardrobe/Fashion Artists, Artists/Body Painters etc. Anyone who is willing to participate in the collaboration can arrange a TF* session.

Why is my year of birth not listed? Currently you must be at least 16yrs old to join Model Brigade.

I've submitted, how long does it take to be approved? It depends on the amount of pending profiles, but typically within 24hrs to a week. The profile needs to be complete. Submission does not guarantee approval. If profiles are left empty or blank it will be declined within 5-7 days from creation.

What do I need for it to be approved? You must complete your Bio section (About Me) with what you are looking for and what you plan to get out of joining the site. This doesn't have to be long. Just a few lines about yourself or work. There are settings which allow you to choose basic information such as what type of work you are looking for, if you are able to travel or not, credits etc. Feel out as much info as you can so that you may be better selected for jobs/offers that you would like to accept. You must have your location info filled in and stat information. Please do not write about personal things in your about me section. This is a modeling site and the info there should pertain to that. So list any or all credits, people you've worked with, goals, who you would like to work with etc. You need to upload a few (4 minimum) current "decent quality" photos of yourself. Please try not to upload personal group photos, personal photos (e.g. your dog or kid) and anything else that is not you. Photographers should upload "good quality" photo of actual people and do not upload non model images. If images are low quality or too small such as thumbnailed sized, it will not be approved. Model Brigade mainly focuses on the models and not objects, so please limit the uploading to images with a model present. If you upload images of objects with no person as the model, it will be declined. General photography should not be done on this site at this time. Note: Submission is not a guarantee for approval.

Why was my profile denied/not approved? These are dozens of reasons why it may have been rejected. Here are just some of the most common reasons.

You did not complete your profile in the time allotted after the reminder was sent. 3-5 days is adequate time to upload at least 4 images and complete your stats and bio page.
Your images were amateur taken with web cams, cell phones or self pics.
Your images were very poor in quality and/or too small such as being thumbnailed size.
You did not provide enough info on your profile and/or didn't select the correct info for your profile type.
You have an inappropriate name as your display name.
We are currently not accepting model managers, web designers, or modeling groups. Agencies will need to be verified.
Pornographic (X-Rated or Adult) related images are not allowed on Model Brigade at anytime. You may also not have links to adult/ hardcore sites. You are allowed to promote(mention you do the work) yourself in the adult area from your own profile but you may not upload the images.
Profiles are not allowed to violate any type of copyright law. You must have explicit written permission to post any copyrighted material on this site or be the actual copyright holder to post/upload images here. Failure to do so will have your profile immediately terminated without notice.
Photographers should upload only photos that you have taken yourself. Artists, Makeup, Hair and Fashion stylists should only have photos in which the image shows their work.
Your images were inappropriate (violent, pornography etc)

How many photos can I upload? It depends on your membership level, however current free accounts start at 60 images. You can also categorize them in albums as you see fit.

What type of photos can I upload? Model Brigade is a "modeling" site, so please only upload images containing models that are relevant to this industry. This is not a general photography or personal image hosting site. Please do not upload non relevant images such as animals, landscapes, buildings, personal images etc. If you are a model and have other personal images in your port, they can be removed without notice, as there are general sites for those. For photographers, it's not beneficial for a model to look through a portfolio full of nature images, landscapes, animals etc, so please do not upload any non modeling related images. If in doubt, note that the image should contain at least one model. All images are subject to approval.

What is mark image 18+? You must mark an image 18+ if it contains any type of nudity including but not limited to topless, see-thru clothing, and bondage/fetish or depiction of violence images. Nudity is ok but it must be marked at 18+. No explicit nudity, such as open leg/genital shots from the front or back is allowed on the site at anytime. Failure to comply may result in a moderator marking it for you, deletion of the image or removal of the profile for any or repeat offenses.

Am I allowed to have a nude Avatar/main image? No. Nude images are to be marked 18+ when uploaded and it will remove the option to set as Avatar. Avatars are typically shown all over the site and not just your profile page so at this time they can't be your avatar/main image.

What exactly is a Showcase and how did I get one? Showcases are photos chosen to be in the Showcase photo galleria. There is no specific criteria that goes into the selection. They are not selected during a specific process and can be chosen at any time. It is not a competition but they are chosen by site admins.

I don't see how to upload my photos. Go to Manage Photos and click the button that says Upload Images. If you want to categorize your images then you can add albums. If you add an album you need to add the images to the album so that your images are displayed in the album you created.

I can't upload the picture or it gives me an error? Currently the maximum size of an image is limited to 600kb. Reduce the size of your image and try again.

I created an album but my images aren't in there. Once you create an album, you must add the images to that album. It's not automatic. From Manage Photos, click Manage Photos on the album you want to add images to. You will see a list of your images by number and caption if you added a caption. If you click on the number in the list, a thumbnail preview will be displayed so that you can see what image it is. Then click the arrow >> to add it to the right side and click update. You can select more than one image at a time by hold down CTRL as you click the numbers. Then click >> to add them to the right/album.

How do I set the main image for my profile? Go to Manage Photos and in your list of photos click on Set As Avatar to make an image your main profile photo.

How do I set the main image for the album? From Manage Photos on the sub menu bar, click on Manage Photos on the album you wish to change. Then it will show you any images you have assigned to that album if you have assigned any. Simply browse the photos and click Set as Avatar for the image you wish to be your album image. You must do this for each album you have and can change it anytime and as often as you wish.

I can't set a main image or my main image doesn't display. If your photo is not approved, it doesn't allow you to set the image as your main profile image yet. If it is, simply click on "Set as Avatar" to make the image your main profile picture. This will not set your album picture and that will need to be done separately by going to Manage Photos on that album.

How do I change my password? Go to My Gear, then My Account and look for Change Password on the account setting page.

How do I change my name? Go to My Gear, then My Account and look for account settings and change your name there.

How do I change my profile style? Go to My Gear, then click My Account from the menu bar or Edit My Profile and click Change portfolio style, URL and Headline on the left menu. Select the style you want and click save changes.

How do I change my personal URL? Login, go to My Gear, and then My Account and click Update URL and My Headline. Then replace your member ID# with what you want then click save and that's it. Don't use any spaces. Example: http://www.modelbrigade.com/modelbrigade

How do I add code to my About Me section? In the about me editor section click on the button that says "html" and that will open the html editor. Then paste the code where you want it to display and click update. It accepts regular html code. This is where you post any flash code or other html code. Do not use BBcode such as[img][b][url] tags.

How do I insert images in the body of my About Me section? Simply click on the "tree" icon on your About Me editor and insert the URL/Link to your image. It should end in an image file e.g. http://www.example.com/mypic.jpg

I don't want to receive email messages how do I stop it? Go to My Gear, then My Account and look for account settings and uncheck "send email notification". Note: You will not receive friend's requests, messages, or other invitations once this is done and you will have to login every time to check you inbox.

How do you send a friends request? There are several ways. The easiest way it to go the members profile, and on the right hand side in the My Options menu, click Add To Friends. It will actually say the members name so it would look like "Add membername to Friends", where membername is the name of the profile you are on.

Why is there a message box on a friends request? Model Brigade requires a note/message to be sent along with the friends request. Friends requests are sent identical to PM's minus the subject. This allows you to introduce yourself, compliment or just say hello while letting them know you are interested in networking with them.

What is hot off the press? It is a feature that shows you when one of your friends has updated their port with new images. It is an easy way to see the newest images so that you can check them out and comment on them if you wish.

How do I delete a comment that was left on my profile page? Go to your profile either by clicking on My Profile on the top menu or type in your # in the search field. Then go to the end of your comments and click "View All". Then you will see a list of your comments with the option to delete next to it.

What is My Calendar? Do you ever find it hard to keep your assignment dates in order? With the Calendar you can add your assignments or jobs so that you have a record of it. You can check this daily and use it make sure you don't conflict with other jobs.

What is Travel? This feature allows you specify when you are traveling, the purpose and the destination. Once it is created, members receive a notification in that vicinity (state) advising you are traveling to that area. Another promotional tool so a member can contact you if they are interested in booking you for work.

What is a Notice or My Notice Space? A Notice is a feature you use to send a message to everyone on your friends list at once. You're My Notice Space shows you the most recent Notices sent from one of your friends.

What are Casting calls and Events? Casting calls and Events are used to promote Casting Calls, Promotional events, workshops or things going on that you might want to attend. Castings/Events must be related to the to a job offer and cannot be used for self promotion.

What are Classified Ads? Classified ads allow you to request work. If you are looking for TFP/CD or seeking paid assignments then you should use the Classified ads.

What is My Ignores? This feature allow you to block communication from any member if you so chose.

How do I know when to post a Casting Call or a Classified ad? Anytime you have an event that would be considered an actual assignment, e.g. paid promotional work, Calendar shoot, Swimwear contest, Magazine shoot, Music Video shoot or any form of paying or tearsheet work. You also use it if you have a major event like a workshop, convention etc. Do not use it for self work request, e.g. TFCD for my port, or looking for paid work etc. Those need to be posted as Classified Ad. If Castings/Events are posted incorrectly it can be deleted.

I don't receive Instant Messages why? You need to change your popup blocker settings to allow popups from www.modelbrigade.com. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Popup Blocker, Popup Blocker Settings, then type in www.modelbrigade.com and click add, then OK. In FireFox, click on Tools from the menu, Content, Exceptions next to Block Popup Windows then type in www.modelbrigade.com click allow then close.

All my images don't show up, why? Probably because you have created an album and have not moved the images into the album or albums. Go To Manage Photos, find the album and click Manage Photos on the album. Select the images you would like to include in that album and click the Right arrow >> to move them into the album. Then click "Update".

Why is my profile disabled? Model Brigade profiles are not allowed at any time to be blank or empty. If you have removed all of your images or info, it is a assumed who wish to no longer have your profile. It will then be disabled. If you are awaiting new photos, then once you have reposted, it can be reinstated by sending an email to support. If you have not cleared your profile then contact us for the reason or check to see if you have been sent one.
